Question
Hello. I've a M reg Citroen ZX and the stereo has died. There are three dashes on the display which according to the manual means the code has been entered incorrectly twenty times. I have a code for it but have never needed to enter it to get the stereo to play.

Answer
Hi Kathryn,

My physic powers have gone again and you didn't tell me what model is fitted in your ZX, they fitted a few according to level of trim and optional extra choice. So I am assuming it is the standard made by Philips unit. Below are instructions for entering the code on the most popular models. Hope that helps.

The stereo has a memory so disconnecting it doesn’t help remove the code entry or reset the timer and as each time you enter it wrong you have to wait double the previous time for  "code" to appear so you can re-enter it, Leave it on overnight should do it.

Instructions, (you really should have your radio book in the cars document pouch; try getting one from your dealer).

Old type with knobs.

Switch on the radio and press (P1) the display will show “CODE”
Press (P1) followed by rotating the tuning button to the first digit
Press (P1) repeat for second, third, forth code.
Press (P1) to save code

OR
RC 465/35
After switching on the display shows “Code” followed by - - - -
Enter code directly by using the preset keys 1-6
To save the code press “MODE”

OR RC200/35

As above but radio activates after last entry.

Hope that does the trick.
Let me know in the feedback, that’s all I ask,
Thanks, Peter
