I was playing back a basketball game I recorded on my DVR.  I fast forwarded thru a commercial and the surround sound started making popping sounds and then I lost all audio except for the pooping noise.  Now that is all I hear whether or not the DVR is on.  Any ideas??

check to see if it comes thru the tv, hook it to tv by itself to see if it's the dvr or your surround system. that will give you a place to start..(by the way, i've been through 3 cable supplied dvr/cable boxes in less than a year for various problems, from poor video to bad/distorted audio)
