Have 97 Gmc van with a factory cd player that shows Error each time I insert A Music CD-r, disk
ejects them out wil not play them. I have tried
several recorded cd-r disks they all wil not play
I have bought a disk cleaner kit throughly clean
each disk. these same disks have played just fine
in the same cd player. Also the regular name artis CD'S play just fine in the same player.
What wrong? What can be done?

players from that era will not play cdr and cdrw discs, if they do at all, consider yourself lucky. it's the way the data is laid down that causes the problem. i have a 2002 high end alpine system that does the same thing. only way is replace player that info states will play cdr and cdrw..........
