Audio Systems/Integrating Ford Audiophile System w/ AVIC-D1

Question
Hi, Ernesto,
I just had a Pioneer AVIC-D1 installed in my 2005 Ford Expedition Limited today. After the installation was complete, I noticed the OEM rear DVD player did not work. I asked the installer about this, and he said that the DVD player will only work with the OEM HU. My logic tells me that, since the DVD player is self contained in the ceiling of my vehicle (screen, drive, transport controls, IR, etc) I should only need to feed audio to the AUX input on the AVIC, but I must be missing something.

So, my question is (finally) :) : Do you know of a workaround to my problem, or is the installer correct about the player being completely dependent on the HU? If so, does Ford make a single-DIN DVD player that's Audiophile-compatible?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed for me. I'm headed cross-country in October, and my 2 small kids will make it seem twice as long if I don't get video working again! :)

Answer
hi
the dvd needs  the ford head unit only to play audio  and takes 1 power from there
he needs to power the dvd from ignition  take the 3 for plug that he is not using put a dvd and find the audio out from the dvd is 3 or 4 cables solder some rca wires to this cables and wire them to the aux video/audio input of the pioneer head unit you can also purchase a set of wireless headphones and have them wire the same rca jacks to this little box

he needs a tool to find the audio from the dvd  that is call signal tracer

good luck
