Question
I recently bought a UXN1W as is on ebay in order to fix and re-sell. My problem is when the unit powers on it says "hello" and about 1/4s after displaying the tuning method (cd/tuner/line in) it powers itself back off. It seemed like the power supply wasnt supplying enough power so I bypassed it with my own bench power supplyto no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like it's in protective shutdown mode, either a mechanical state problem or something in the motor control circuitry not allowing it to make it through the initial power up/ check out sequence. normally these players are so cheap it's not economical even to open it up.
