Question
I have two Kenwood KDC C601 10 disc cd changers. One came in a 1993 Honda Accord that I bought and the other I bought used kin hopes of repairing the setup. Both seem to function as far as loading and searching for any discs that are loaded in the magazine, but both give an error code of E04 when attempting to read a disc that has been loaded into the unit from the magazine. They will also cycle through all 10 positions on the changer and then retry the one that got an E04 error, but then an E02 error comes up. I have tried searching on the web for these error codes and for the Kenwood users  manual, but can't find them.

e02,04 are the same error the cd changer can not find a disc
it means no disc or no magazine,we know that you put in the magazines with this so the problem is:

the disc is upside down  with the label down or the laser pickup can not read the disc and believes the tray is empty and moves to the next cd once it check 10 disc and goes back to the first one it will give you the error

try a laser cleaner or it might need to be repair
re-align the laser or replace the laser
