Audio Systems/Stereo System CD Player Faulty

Question
The model is a 2001 AWM 2700-U Sanyo stereo system with 2 cassette players and cd player unit that can hold up to 3 cd's in the turntable.  The tuner and cassette units work fine.  The cd player turntable sometimes turns and sometimes doesn't when the "change cd" button is pressed.  When the turntable does manage to turn, the CD that aligns with the laser to play doesn't get aligned correctly because the CD doesn't play.  A blinking message of "door" appears in the stereo display.  Advice please.

Answer
theres many problems that can cause that, from a bad drive belt to faulty optical sensors. if you want to spend near 200 bucks to fix it, go ahead. i would replace system with new one, i'd definately go with aiwa as replacement, they seem to hold up better.
