Audio Systems/Stereo will not come on after battery chage

Question
Peter - SOS from down the road in Bristol: I had the battery changed on my '96 Saab 9000, and now seem to have lost power to the audio unit (radio/Clarion CD). There is a light coming behind the on/off button when the ignition is on but nothing on the radio display screen where I would expect to enter the security code I have. Any advice? Thanks

Answer
Hi Nye.
I now live in Marbella, so bit more than "down the road" :-)
Sounds like you have lost one of the 12v feeds, use a test bulb or meter and see if you have 12v live and 12v accessory when ignition is on AT THE RADIO END of the wiring harness and also check for a blown 10a fuse in the back of the radio, inline on harness and in the fusebox,(you didn't say what model of Clarion CD/radio you have fitted).
