Audio Systems/Subwoofer in the car keeps cutting out

Question
My subwoofer in the car has recently began cutting out mid song. I have checked all the wiring and its good. The base will just cut out, then come back in again randomly, not in any particular time interval. Weird thing is it has been working for about 6 months... What do you think could be causing the cutting out? Thankyou very much in advance, Duncan.

Answer
Hi Duncan,
First things first, as they say,
Is it the sub that's cutting out in which case it’s the coil in the sub and the sub needs replacing, (best way is to borrow a similar sub and swap it over for a test) or is it the amp powering the sub, (LED going out?)in which case it could be the amp or a problem with insufficient power, (duff battery) or bad power lead/connection or earth. Check one thing at a time and tick it off before checking the next item or you will end up going in circles.
