Question
Hello, I hope I have found the right person to advise me of what to do.  I have a 96 chevy silerado and just recently when I put in a cassette it ejects it right away. Do you have any idea of what the problem is?  My wife wants me to get a CD player but my favorite music is downloaded on cassettes.  Is there a possible fuse just for the cassette player?  I guess the last resort is to get a new radio with a cassette player and have them install it.  Any fine words of you expertise would greatly be appreciated, I miss my music when I am on the road.  Thanks, Bruce of Cedar Rapids, IA

Answer
sounds like you have a mechanical problem with the cassette. it's more than likely a drive belt slipping, not allowing the mechanisim to fully engage in the play mode. best bet if you want to keep the cassette player is to go to a local junkyard and get an exact replacement stereo. for your wife, simply get a cd walkman with cassette adaptor, i've found they work quite well. good hunting!!
