Question
have 87 maxima. installed a cd,speakers,yadda-just fine. added an amp and speaker box. wrkd fine when installed then put the electric seat back in and now the thing wont ground properly. probable not enough info but can ya make anything of this?

Answer
Hi Dawn,
I think the sentence, "worked fine when installed then put the electric seat back in", is the key. What could you have done to alter the status-quo when the seat was put back in? Was it bolting the seat down (onto the wiring, ouch!) or when you plugged the seat into the car's electrics?
Providing you have the power cable run from an in-line fuse at the battery terminal and there IS power at the amp and grounded locally (within 12") to the body there shouldn't be a problem. The only other wires are the RCAs and speaker leads and the signal wire from the radio (12v acc).
