Audio Systems/car audio aux problems?!

Question
please help? i connected an AUX (ipod) to my alpine car cd reciever via ai-net/rca cable.  and it works but i have 2 problems:

1) the rear speakers do not play, just the front play the audio.
2) when i change the source to tuner the radio plays BUT you can still hear the ipod playing as well!  common sense when switching sources the other source (cd, radio, ipod) should stop.
also in this case the front speakers will play the AUX (ipod) and the rear speakers play the tuner (radio).

everything else works fine.  all the connections/wirings are perfect.  i also tried resetting the alpine.  is this just a dying alpine head unit or is my harness faulty? help oh tech God!

Answer
Apart from "Alpine" I have no idea what head unit you have so I can only answer in general terms.
The ipod input on aux is just that, an input via RCA, unlike a cd changer where there is a two way connection with the head unit there is no control over the ipod from the head unit so, yes, you will still hear it, switch it off. The head unit will only put out what it gets in, two speaker input so two speaker in stereo is what you get out.
