Audio Systems/car radio amp

Question
We recently installed a new battery in my 1995 Intrepid. Because we had to turn the battery around the opposite way from which the old one was in, my husband accidently hooked the battery cables up backwards and burnt some wires. We had that fixed, but now my radio doesn't work and the repairman said that the amp was probably blown. Can it be repaired or will I have to get a new system for my car?

Answer
i'm sure it can be repaired but, if it's a factory installed amp your most economical bet is see if you can get replacement at local junkyard. if it's an after market amp, still your best bet is replacement. it might be just the time for an upgrade. sorry i couldn't just say 'replace this part', but most of the time replacement of electronics is necessary.....G...
