Hi I'm having a heck of a time researching an iPod installation for a 2005 grand caravan SE (the no-frills version--so no sterring wheel radio controls).  We have the factory radio (no cassett, CD w/ controlls for an after market disc changer, my manual refers to it as the "RBK radio").  From the reviews I've read the FM transmitter products don't seem like a good idea.  I'd like to go wired with this.  Is there an inexpensive way to hook an iPod up to the car stereo?  I've seen some stuff that's $130 and I don't even know if it will work with our vehicle.  

I'm willing to give up use of the radio's buttons if it means saving some money (can I do an RCA jack in the back of this thing?) I'm willing to spend more money if it's the only way to have a single plug-in for power and connection to the radio.  

Oh and I haven't bought the iPod yet either--I'm thinking 3rd  or 4th generation if that makes a difference.  Thanks for your help.

ok there is a few options   AUX audio input  when you press the cd button or cdc the radio will display 1-1 and you can use the ipod to play your music
the other option is the ipod controller your radio will controll the ipod like if it was a cd changer,
memory buttons will be play list you can go back and forward
when you go to radio  the ipod will turn off and when you go to cdc the ipod will turn back on  
the ipod can be in the glove box  or you can mount at front
