Question
i have got an elddis caravan and we brought a car stereo to put in the caravan but we have connected it all up and you turn the power on and it says "see you" but there is power to it, but it jus turns off. have you got any advice towards this?

Answer
Sounds like a mis-installation job.
Speakers are simple and pretty much take care of themselves, 4 per unit, left and right, front and rear and + &-  each, so it must be the 3 main wires you require for the stereo
You need TWO power inputs on a car radio, one for battery possitive 12vdc and one for ignition 12v ACC, now on a caravan there is no ignition so you have to wire the two 12vdc inputs together, these are usually red (ign) and yellow or sometimes orange (Battery) and an earth usually black. On a caravan you can ignore the other wires for amp / antenne 12vdc output (blue) and phone mute (white) and lights (dimmer).
Wire up like so and make sure the earth goes to a good chassis ground and that the underside of the antenne is also well grounded.
Hope that sorts it out, let me know on the feed back and score.
Thanks Peter
