have an old pioneer reciever model sx-950 , ( no sound ) started 2 weeks ago, first would stop playing for couple of seconds next day couple of minutes and so on now wont play at all. my fm indicator lite wont light up either. any idea ?

probably dirty contacts on switches and controls, and probably some solder joints that have finally worked loose. i'd get a can of spray called de-ox-id which is the best control cleaner since they banned something else that was alot better. open unit up so you can spray into the little holes in rear of controls, also spray any contacts (except for tuner vanes, do not spray there). then look over circuitboard solder side and redo any soldering joints you find that are bad....
