Question For a very long time now I have had constant pressure and a feeling of liquid in my ears. I have tried every nasal spray and decongestant on the market sometimes it feels better but never goes away. My doctor told me that there is nothing wrong with me and that there is no liquid in my ears. I am desperate to have this go away and don't know what to do since it seems like my doctors can't help me.
please help!!!
Answer Hi Sara,
If an audiological evaluation and tympanometry have revealed no fluid in your ears, you may want to ask your physician about Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD). This is very common with people who suffer from allergies, also at the beginning and ending of a cold. If you've tried and failed with every nose spray and decongestant on the market, ask for a referral to an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat doctor) and ask about a PE tube for one or both of your ears. There is no way to diagnose over the computer, so please ask your physcian if you are a candidate.
