Question
can pressure on my neck really stop tinnitus  I found out  just by chance when leaning on my neck that the ringing stopped, thanks for your time

Answer
Hi Carol,
It really would depend on the cause of the tinnitus.  If there is a problem with your neck, like slipped discs or compressed nerves, and that is the root cause of your tinnitus, I guess pressure could relieve some of the symptoms.  However, if the cause is damage to the cochlea itself, then I really haven't heard of pressure on the neck helping.  You might want to have a physician check out your neck to make sure there is nothing wrong with it that would be causing the tinnitus.
Hope this helps.
