Audiology/Otolaryngology/Brain 5th ventricle and noise sensitivity

Question
QUESTION: I had a total body scan done and they saw a 5th ventricle in my brain and serious sinus problems because of my nasal cavity.  I also have TMJ but sleep with a mouthpiece so the ear ringing stopped a while back.  I am extremely sensitive to noise and hear a sonic, humming type of electrical surge sound that no one else but me hears.  I'm looking for documentation about noise sensitivity related to brain 5th ventricle or TMJ syndrome.

ANSWER: Hi Bettina,
I know of no documentation relating a 5th ventricle to noise sensitivity.  TMJ, on the other hand, can cause a conductive loss which in turn could cause sensitivity.

I highly suggest that you be evaluated by an ENT and have a complete audiological workup to determine the cause of your sensitivity and tinnitus.

Hope this helps.

QUESTION: What is an ENT?

Answer
Hi Bettina,
Sorry for not explaining.  An ENT is a medical physician that specializes in the Ear-Nose-Throat.  They are sometimes referred to as otolaryngologists or otorhinolaryngologists. In Europe they are known as ORLs - otorhinolaryngologists.
