Audiology/Otolaryngology/ear sounds

Question
When I lie down I hear two musical notes over and over in my left ear, not always the same length or rhythm but always the same two notes. I did have a cold recently, but have been well for more than a week. It's very annoying. Have you heard of such a complaint and how can I get rid of it?

Answer
Hi Pat,
yes, I have heard of this complaint. Without knowing the exact cause, I cannot tell you how to get rid of it.
I suggest that you consult with an ear specialist and have your hearing evaluated by an audiologist. The two of them together can better give you an idea of what is causing the sounds and what can be done.
Hope this helps.
