Question
i was born with two holes on both sides of my outer ear where the ear connect to the head,i have never seen anyones before with these holes, except my doctor when i was born he had two also,it use to leak a lot when i was a baby, with a smell, they still leak but not as much anymore what cause the holes ,and is this rare?

Answer
Hi Brandon,
What you have are known as Preauricular Pits.  They are not at all uncommon. Preauricular pits are located near the front of the ear and mark the entrance to a sinus tract that may travel under the skin near the ear cartilage. Because the sinus tract is lined with squamous epithelium, it may become infected, leading to cellulitis or an abscess. So, if you notice any swelling, redness or smelly discharge, you need to consult a physician immediately

Hope this helps.
