Question
I have a tiny hole at the top of each of my ears.  Please could someone tell me what it is.  I have tried to google my question but to no avail.  Please help me.  Many thanks.

Answer
Hi Monique,
What you have is known as a preauricular cyst, or more commonly called an ear pit.  That hole is an opening that leads to a sinus tract that runs beside your ear.  Normally, they do not present any problems; however, they can become infected and lead to serious problems.  At that point, if you notice there is ever any discharge or pain, you would need to consult an ear specialist.

Hope this helps,
