Audiology/Otolaryngology/earches for 4 years

Question
Hello, I need some advice. I have had recurrent earaches for 4 years. I get them every 1 to 3 weeks and it lasts for about 2-4 days. I get earaches in both ears but more in my right ear. When I get my ear pain, I get extremely tired to the point that I have to lie down, my head and eye hurt and I get very nauseous, even vomiting at times. It has negatively impacted my life greatly.
I've had blood tests done and everything came out fine. I've seen many doctors and they have not been able to diagnose/cure me. Have you seen anyone with similar symptoms?Do you have any idea what it could be?  Please help.

Answer
Hi Martha,
Have you had your hearing tested by an audiologist? Your symptoms can be due to any number of factors.  Some of the symptoms you describe are associated with a condition known as endolymphatic hydrops, a condition where there is a fluid buildup in the inner ear that can cause a feeling like an earache as well as dizziness, nausea and vomiting.  An audiologist can test you for this.  It is also possible that the symptoms are migrainous in nature.  Have you been evaluated by a neurologist?  If not, I suggest you consult with one.

Hope this helps.
