Question
Dear Doctor:
I am a 27years old Chinese youngman.
In my very young age , i am quite sensitive to sounds. For example i can not sleep well with clocks ticking.
In november of 2006 ,i did the columnae nasi operation, then late I start to be more sensitive to sounds, especially DISLIKE sounds from air condition/ refrigerator.

Because of suffer disease,my body become weaker, then I got tinnitus in 2008 NOV 17th. My left ear sounds like the sound of the cicada , left sounds like bass voice from the personal stereo.IN 2009 Feb 7th, I start to strongly feel ill with sounds from  car engines/flame in furnace/air condition. Even when I use my mobile phone, my ear feels uncomfortable and the  tinnitus become louder. If I go to streets, I feel sick in stomach and Palpitation.
Seems my ear can not operate well with some special frequencies.

But I am quite well with sounds from TV sets and people chat. Also, I can hear all different sounds . The only sounds changing is when hear firecrackers , the sounds become duller than before.

SO, dear Doctor , can you help me find my problems? What kind of pills should I take?

WISHING YOU EVERYTHING GOES WELL

Answer
Hi Zhenxing,

I need to know, have you ever had your hearing evaluated? You need to know whether or not you have a hearing loss, what type of loss and then we can decide on treatment.

I'm sorry, but I am not familiar with the state of medicine in China, but is there a hospital or medical facility that can evaluate you?  That must be your first step.

Please let me know.

Regards,
