Question
My mom has been suffering this Meniere's disease and the symptom has stabilized for 6 years. Now she is into this state where she is experiencing tinnitus and hearing loss. I wonder if hearing aids device can help to improve her hearing. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Amy,

Yes, hearing aids can help your mom not only improve her hearing, but possibly with her tinnitus as well.  The most important thing is to get a hearing aid that is flexible - as most of them are now - to accommodate her hearing in case it does start fluctuating.

My advice is to find a certified Audiologist in your area and start there.  You can check these websites for one: www.audiology.org and www.asha.org. Also check out the consumer portion of these websites so you can get an idea of what hearing aids can and cannot do: www.phonak.com and www.oticon.com.  Although I am referring you to these two manufacturers's sites, most hearing aids dispensed today are capable of doing the same things.

Hope this helps
