Respected Sir
My son is now 3 year 6 month old.He is otherwise very much
active & playful. However he does not listen to any comment.
He arise normally from sleep in the morning if we call him
by his name. He plays with his elder sister. However he
cannot express the natures call. Beyond a certain period of
time he passes urine/stool. He never sits patiently on any
particular period/point of time. Previously he used to speak
name of some nearby boy in the of Anna instead of Rana. He
used to dance when we clapped. Seeing all these problems, we
approached to an ENT specialist for through check up at his
2 year 10 month age. My wife was admitted for hospital for
acute rectal bleeding leaving him behind his aunt &
grandmother. He still insists for breastfeeding. Not even
sleep without it. I am hereby enclosing all attachments as
was done by ENT specialist. I request you suggestion in this
regard. What could be a case is this? What is your
suggestion in this regard?
Hope you will reply at an earliest
Thanking you
Dr Sanjoy Paul

Answer
Hi Dr. Paul,

Unfortunately, I am unable to see any attachments.  However, my suggestion would be to consult a speech-language pathologist who can evaluate your son's speech and language development.

Not knowing your child's history or test results, if there was any history of middle ear infections and/or hearing loss, it is not inconceivable that your child's language and/or cognitive development would be delayed as well.

I am providing you with this website of ISHA, the Indian Speech and Hearing Association:  http://ishaindia.org.in/  I suggest you contact them for an appropriate referral.

Hope this helps.
