Audiology/Otolaryngology/pulsatile tinnitus

Question
I've had objective pulsatile tinnitus for a while now, without hearing loss. My rt ear is the only side affected and I realize I never have wax from this ear. I have TMJ issues and my bones are beaked, etc, from chomping and grinding.  I am concerned about the pulsatile tinnitus being an indication of something about to rupture...what can you share with me about this?

Answer
Hi Dianna,
Pulsatile tinnitus is usually due to a circulatory disturbance. More often than not, this particular tinnitus condition is derived from the blood vessels located within the neck or head and occurs when the blood flow in the neck or head is disturbed or interrupted.

It is highly advisable to consult with a physician with expertise in circulatory problems.

Hope this helps.
