Question
I was diagnosed with inner ear problems four years ago with the knowledge it probably could get worse.  Now i am having worse problems with dizziness and nausea.  I get some relief with meclizine exceot I get too drowsy.  Right now I don't have funds to retake an audiology test.  Do decongestants help the inner ear at all? I read that they do for middle ear.

Answer
Hi Rana,
No, decongestants do not help inner ear problems.

With a diagnosed ear problems and the worsening of symptoms, it really is imperative you consult your ENT for a re-evaluation.  If money is an issue, you may be able to talk to heim and reach some type of financial agreement.  You really do not want to take any risks with your ears and hearing.

Hope this helps.
