Auditing/Bishop's Report?

Question
Hi--

This is the longest of longshot questions, but worth a stab.

When I was ten years old--nearly sixty years ago--my father told me about something called a "Bishop's Report" (or Bishop Report). It was some sort of credit or background report. I could tell from my father's voice that it was something he took very seriously and used often.

I've never seen any reference to it subsequently and no Google reference is relevant.

Do you have any idea what my father was referring to?

Many thanks for any help you can offer,

Steven Goldberg

Answer
Dear Steven,

Thank you so much for contacting me.

Honestly, I have not heard of that report pertaining to a credit or background report. I did my own research and the closest report I found is outlined below, but I do not think that your father was referring to this one because the firm that publishes is in the market since 1985.

An Annual Subscription To The Bishop Report Includes:

Monthly issues of The Bishop Report - Typically 20  pages in length.

A Subscription To The Bishop Report Provides:

Analysis of Country and Regional Connector Markets

Each year, Bishop & Associates analyzes the electronic connector market for all major and developing countries. This information is published and supplied to the electronics, and electronic connector industry in a variety of ways. The Bishop Report is one of those vehicles, providing a cross section of all research conducted by the firm. Each year, The Bishop Report furnishes regional, country, and product line information on the North American, Japanese, Asia-Pacific, Chinese and European connector markets. In the coming year, The Bishop Report will supply detailed information for each of these world connector markets.

Detailed Studies of Worldwide Electronic Equipment Markets

The key to developing any detailed market information on the world connector market is a complete analysis of the many worldwide electronic equipment markets. Bishop & Associates maintains, and updates annually, extensive databases on all worldwide electronic equipment markets. This information is developed and maintained at the country level, which provides the most accurate base for all component and connector projections.

The other Bishop's reports are the ones that are mandatory to the bishops in the Catholic and Evangelist churches, which I am sure, you found yourself when you were researching that report.

Sorry I could not be of more help.
