Question
Hi Consuelo,

Our training division is looking into topics in Word 2007 to train our office and field auditors in. What areas of Word would you recommend that most of today's auditors need a greater concentration of training in?

Answer
Dear Jerry,

Thank you for contacting me and I apologize for the delay.

Since your focus will be into Word 2007 I am assuming that your auditors are very proficient in advanced Excel. Word is a very important part of the overall qualifications of every auditor.

Some of the aspects very relevant to the profession are:

o Rules for selecting records from a data source
o Using Microsoft Query to retrieve data from an external data source
o Insert information from a database or Excel spreadsheet into a Word document
o Interface with other Microsoft applications such as Access and Excel
o Document protection
o Mail merge
o Inserting tables into a Word document, etc.

Hope it helps.

I wish you the best with your training program.

Sincerely,

Consuelo Herrera, CAMS, CFE
