Question
Mick - My boyfriend and I are planning to travel to Australia sometime in early February, and also want to visit friends in Tasmania and New Zealand.  We haven't purchased our tickets yet, and need to do that right away.  I was hoping for an around-the-world or multi-destination type ticket, that would include flights to all 3 locations.  Do you have any suggestions for reasonably-priced tickets (ie. particular airlines or flight programs)?  We were thinking of spending 3 weeks in Aus, 2 weeks in NZ, and one week in Tasmania.  We'll be flying from Washington State (probably Seattle), and would like to leave the first or second week in February.  I'm hoping to get tickets for under $2500.00 per person.  I appreciate any advice you might have.  Thanks, Lisa Vogler

Answer
Lisa:
Your best bet is to go to a travel agency that specializes in Australia/New Zealand travel.  The rates and terms change almost daily so you will need to have exact dates and destinations.  You might also consider taking the overnight ferry one way to or from Tasmania.  It is usually about the same price as a flight and hotel and is a fun experience.
I would suggest you call Mandy at Downunder Journeys at 800-409-8496 and tell her I sent you.
If that does not work try Abel Tasman Tours or Downunder Answers both in the Bellevue area.
