About Frank Denison
Expertise
I have lived in Brisbane all my life (49 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience
I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.

Australia - suburbs in Brisbane

Expert: Frank Denison - 10/14/2008

Question
Hi Frank, just wondering if you could give me some info on the following suburbs and the commute to Fortitude Valley.
1. Moggill/Bellbowrie
2. The Gap
3. Kenmore
4. North lake
5. Fitzgibbon/Taigum

Thanks very much.  Also looking at state schools in these areas and rental prices.  Any advice would be most appreciated.

Chrissy

Answer
Hi Chrissy,

The suburbs of Moggill/Bellbowrie, The Gap, Kenmore are all western suburbs of Brisbane. All except The Gap, depending on traffic would be 20 to 25 mins travel to Fortitude Valley. The Gap would be about 15 minutes.

They are all very nice suburbs and housing would be above $400 a week

The site http://www.realestate.com.au/ will give you a better idea.

North Lakes Fitzgibbon/Taigum are northern suburbs.

North Lakes would be 30 mins travel and Fitzgibbon/Taigum would be about 20 mins. Rental prices would be slightly lower in some parts of Fitzgibbon/Taigum  and North Lakes.

North lakes is a new suburb, but in parts of it, the blocks are very small, with houses very close together. All of the areas you mention have excellent options for state schools.

Regards,
Frank
