Question
QUESTION: I'm going to Australia in March for the first time to see my friend who lives in Queensland. What kind of things are there in Queensland for vacationers?

ANSWER: Hello Violet,
There are lots of things but, it depends where you are.  Surfers Paradise, Australia's version of Miami only with better beaches, is around 2,000 kilometres from Cairns, which tends to be backpacker heaven and a place to go and see the reef amongst other things.
In between there's the capital city, Brisbane, other major centres such as Rockhampton, Mackay and Townsville and Airlie Beach which is the gateway to the Whitsundays.
So, I have, unfortunately, no idea where your girlfriend lives and what your likes or dislikes are.
For instance, do you want to see beaches?  Disneyland type attractions?  Go to the disco scene? Cruise the Great Barrier Reef?  Play tennis?  It's not much good me pointing out the rainforests of northern N.S.W. (which would be an option if you're at the Gold Coast) if you'd rather be in an art gallery.
If you can provide me with some answers and include how you plan to travel when you're here (car, bus etc), how long you'll be here and other basics, then we can give you some ideas.
Cheers, Ian

QUESTION: she lives in sunnybank hills. and she said she lives 45 minutes from sea world. thats all i know

Answer
Hello again.
45 minutes from SeaWorld will put here near the Gold Coast and all its attractions.
For instance, apart from SeaWorld, there is Dream World, Warner Brothers and the water slides.
In addition, there is heaps of entertainment and shopping but it's very touristy.
The beaches are good and popular and easily accessible.  If you're not used to surf - DO take notice of the lifeguards.  People from other countries do not understand rips.
In Brisbane the South Bank is very good and the museum is excellent with some surprising exhibits.
The casino is worth a look, not because of gambling but the building itself is the old treasury and has been beautifully preserved.
The hinterland, such as Mount Tamborine and Springbrook, are a bit special if you like hilly forested country.
Some of the national park walks are beautiful and I would recommend them if you have the time.
You can google any of these things I've mentioned and also contact the local tourist bureaus at Brisbane and the Gold Coast for more details.
I hope this helps you in your holiday.
Cheers, Ian
