About Frank Denison
Expertise
I have lived in Brisbane all my life (51 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience
I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.

Australia - public transport redcliff to CBD

Expert: Frank Denison - 11/22/2008

Question
We are considering moving to Redcliff and are currently located in Sydney.
Being totally unfamiliar with the area other than what we have read on
websites, is there any public transport for efficient commuting to the CBD -
do ferries run from there to CBD?

Thank you.

Answer
G'day Alana,
Redcliffe is more than 30km from the city.
There are only 2 options for publiv transport from Redcliffe to the CBD.
You can catch a bus which is run by a private company, which goes to the CBD. It takes about 1 hour 10 minutes, depending on traffic.

The other option is to catch a bus, change at a suburb at Sandgate, and then catch a train. Some of the trains run express, which makes the trip about 10 minutes quicker.

Both trips will be more than an hour.

I would suggest moving to Sandgate or a surrounding suburb, where getting to the city would be easier and take a lot less time. It takes 33 minutes by train from Sandgate to the CBD.

If I can be of any other assistance, feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
Frank
