Question
Dear Frank,
My apologies if I am not writing to the right person but if not maybe you can let me know who to ask here! My name is Sandra, 33 years old, from Sweden. I work in the hotel/catering field and have lived and worked previously in Europe and the US. I have 12 years work experience and have studied 6 languages of which I speak French, Swedish and English fluently. I am wondering how hard it would be for me to obtain a work permit in Australia? Any information you can give me is greatly appreciated!
Many thanks,
Sandra

Answer
Hello Sandra,

I do not know a lot about work visas. The best I can do is offer you the Australian Government websites information.

The site says :-

This visa is for people aged 18 to 30 years of age, who are interested in a working holiday of up to 12 months in Australia.

With you being over 30, you would not qualify for a working holiday visa.

The detailed information is available on http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday/417/index.htm

The link  below explains the options for people over 30.

I hope this helps.

Contact me again if require more help.

Regards,
Frank

Expertise

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
