Australia/Australian climate

Question
We are considering emigrating to Australia, but unsure which area to research.  My husband is in banking/finance and we would need to be where the "finance industry" is for best job opportunities, but additionally we are looking for the best area for bringing up a young family, in terms of a warm climate, access to good beaches, outdoor life etc.  Any advice about this and other aspects would be most appreciated. We are in the early stages of our research at the moment.

Answer
Julie:
I would check out Brisbane or one of the suburbs.  Although it is on a river rather than a beach, Surfers Paradise and surrounds offer great ocean experiences.  The city is large enough to have thriving industry but small enough that you don't feel lost in an overpopulated metropolis.  The climate is, from my opinion, almost ideal year round (mid 80's in the summer and 70's in the winter)  and you will find schools as good as anywhere in Australia.  There is good public transportation in the city and excellent facilities for travel to other areas by car, bus, air or train.
Good luck.
