Australia/where to live in Queensland
Expert: Frank Denison - 4/3/2008
QuestionQUESTION: Hi Frank
My family and I are moving to Brisbane very soon. We are looking to rent in an area called Deception Bay. We have read various reports on the area, some even referring to it as 'depression bay'. We would value your advice on the area - is it true? we've never been so are totally in the dark.
ANSWER: Hi Jo,
I would have to agree with your comments. The area you mention has a nickname of Depression Bay.
I would not recommend that area to live. The surrounding areas od Redcliffe, Kippa Ring, Margate, Suttons Beach, Scarborough would be better options.
Regards,
Frank

QUESTION: Thanks Frank,
We have been told that North Lakes is ok. However, the area we are moving to is close to Deception Bay, infact, it's on the cusp of Deception Bay Park, close to Rothwell.
We are renting for 6 months there as we've now committed to this (and have been advised that it's a good area by a relocation company) any thoughts?
Thanks again for your help.
Jo
AnswerG'day Jo,
North Lakes is a new suburb on the North Side and you will find it very good. It has a large shopping centre, with a library, hotel and restaurants close to the shopping csntre.
Rothwell is about 5 to 10 mins from North Lakes. Rothwell borders Deception Bay. I have not heard any bad reports about Rothwell.
I know you will enjoy your time in Brisbane.
Regards,
Frank
