Australia/Australia Visit

Question
Hi, I'm coming over to Australia on a working visa from February next year.  I've been advised to go to Melbourne for work but I want to know about other areas and heard from a friend you're an expert on Brisbane.  What can you recommend for a first time visitor who is looking for work?  Any advice is welcome.

Answer
Hi Paula,
February in Australia is the last month of our summer, so it will still be very warm.

These websites will give you some idea on what is available work wise.

Work in Queensland - http://www.qld.gov.au/about/jobs-and-work/

You will find you will get warmer weather the further north you go. Brisbane will still be quite hot and steamy in February. Brisbane is in a boom at the moment, and there is plenty of work available. Melbourne has a great transport system and there is plenty to do. It does rain a lot in Melbourne though and the tempreature does fluctuate, no matter what season it is.

Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney will offer different things, but all will have work available. If you have enough time, make sure you get to the northern part of Queensland and visit Whitsunday Islands and Cairns and of course the Great Barrier Reef.

Contact me again if you require any more information.

Regards,
Frank

Expertise

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
