Australia/Areas to live

Question
Frank, we could possibly be moving out to Brisbane  within 6 months visa dependant, my question is would you recommend Raby Bay as some where to stay  i know rent is expensive as its near the waterfront canals etc, but is it safe, and is there shopping and schools within walking distance. I have a 13yr old and a 7 year old, is there much in the area to keep them occupied?

Would you recommend living in a GATED community, or can you suggest somewhere  similar to Raby Bay, with water front access and boat pontoon access.

Is the area safe enough not too worry about break ins etc. and can you recommend any schools either private( costs?) or state ran schools.

Thanks in advance....

Answer
G'day Stephen,
Raby Bay is a nice area, and I would consider it safe. It is close to all the amenities you mention.

I have never lived or know anyone who has lived in a gated community.  We live in a highrise, and it isa similar security as a gated one, and we think it is great.

I do not know any private schools in Raby Bay, but on average it would be between $2,000 and $3,000 a term.

Enjoy your move.

Regards,
Frank

Expertise

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
