Hi there, My family have a great opportunity to move from the UK to Australia. I work from home and my Husband is an Electrician with an OZ Practising licence so we can pretty much go anywhere. We have been to Brisbane/Gold Coast before and loved it. From experience I know that holiday mode is very different from 'real life' mode so I am researching like mad. We have two children aged 13 (really not keen on a move) and 2. Can you recommend areas, suburbs etc close to good schools (State)etc?? Also, is the rental market for a family home still hard going? Thanks for any advise - much appreciated

Hi Lisa,
       I would suggest the north side of the city, staying towards the inner suburbs of :- Albion, Clayfield, Hendra, Windsor, Wilston, Enoggera, Alderley, Eagle Junction, Toombul, Nundah, Northgate, Stafford, Kedron, Chermside. All of those suburbs will give you many options for schooling.

I agree holiday mode and real life mode can be quite different, but if you enjoyed it before, I am sure you will enjoy it again.

The rental market can be tough, but if you get references before you leave, it will help.. If that is not possible, get your husbands employer to write a reference.
