Question
Hi, We're visiting Austalia (Cairns + Brisbane/Goldcoast) end of October.

We are starting our holiday at Cairns where we plan to spend 5 nights to see the Great Barrier Reef, Kurunda etc. We want to see the whales and Maybe Movie world and thought of staying at Goldcoast. Should we stay at GCoast or at Brisbane (our airport is Brisbane)and travel to GC?

We are an Indian family who are vegetarians (eat egg and diary ). Where can we get meatless food?

Answer
G'day Malavika,
If you stay in Brisbane, it will take about an hour to drive to the Gold Coast. It depends if you want to drive to and from the coast each day. Accomodation will be of a similar price in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

You will have no probelem finding a restaurant that have vegetarian meals. There will be plenty of options for you to to get a meal with out meat.

Regards,
Frank

Expertise

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
