hello Frank
My husband intends to visit oz early next year on a fact finding trip.  He is in the construction business so would need to be close to a city for work however we are very keen to relocate to a picturesque harbor location. we have two kids so its important that they get a good school and have plenty of activities.  we are looking between Brisbane and Newcastle.  What could our dream location be ?

           There is a lot of construction happening in Brisbane at the moment. We are right in the middle of a boom. The trouble with Brisbane is you do not have harbor location. I am not sure you can get a picturesque harbor location, and be close to a city that has good schooling.

The Sunshine Coast is beautiful, and may be the closest you will get with all the things you mention.

I would settle for Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast.
