Australia - Accommodation

Expert: Patrick Cummings - 3/4/2009

Question
Hello, I am planning a trip to Australia. I will be traveling around the country for
three weeks. I don't know if it's better to prebook accommodations for my entire
trip or to look and pay for accommodation as I travel. The latter will be more
spontaneous. I am arriving during low peak travel season so I figure that waiting
until I am actually get to my destinations will actually save me mula!

Answer
I strongly advise you prebook all of your accommodations.  The Department of Immigration will not grant you access into the country unless you can show where you will be staying and that you have enough funds to cover the cost of your stay in Australia.

Even in the low season, accommodation can book up fast. I've been able to find some great deals at http://www.flightcentre.com.au

Enjoy your trip!
