Australia/Travel to Aus
Expert: Megan - 3/29/2009
QuestionHI,Megan! It is the first time My parents and I travel to Australia to visit my relative living in Sydney. My parents are old and cannot stand the cold weather, so could you tell me how the weather is in Sydney (ex: the winter start and end in which month? and how is the temperature? and the spring, summer, autumn also). Thank you so much for your help.
AnswerHi Van,
Sydney is one of those funny cities similar to Melbourne in the fact it is very hard to predict (although it is easier than Melbourne which has 4 seasons in a day). I looked up the average weather forcast through BBC and this is what I got. (read underneath for my advice)

I would recomend visiting in October because the weather is nice then not too hot or too cold plus it is an off peak time so accomodation and flights etc will be cheaper. The school break is in Sept which means by October attractions won't be as crowded. Even November isn't too bad but if you go in December or January expect crowds. It depends how hot or cold you like your weather being from Queensland (up north) I'm used to hotter weather and have no problem in Summer in Sydney. In Sydney you have winter from May to July but April and August are also cool. In summary I would reccomend Oct-Feb for travel to Sydney to avoid the cooler weather.
Hope this helps. Please contact me if I can help any further :)
