Question
Hello.

I've always wanted to visit Australia because I hear its so beautiful and based
on the photos I've seen in books and video clips on tv, I'm seriously
considering relocating there from the US.

1. What places do you recommend for sight seeing?

2. What are the most important historical places there?

3. What foods do you recommend that are most popular?

4. What is the time difference between Florida, USA and Australia?

Also, I'm planning to call somewhere from Florida, USA to Australia. Here is
the following phone number: (+61) 08 9224 2244.

5. If I wish to call from Florida, USA to Australia, what number must I dial
first?

Best regards,

Julian

Answer
Sorry about the late response. I am currently in the USA on holidays as per my profile. I can give you a rough over view quickly but don't have the time to go in depth. If you want an in depth answer ask me again on the 19th July or after.

1. THe most popular sightseeing is all the East Coast sights (no one really goes to the West Coast) In Sydney you have the Sydney Harbour Bridge then you can head over to Manly or Bondi beaches for a day. There is lots of great history and my favourite places to explore are The Rocks and Darling Harbour. There is also Australia's capital Canberra if you are interested in politics that has our parliment house, war memorials etc (similar to Washington DC). It is only 2 hours by bus or car from Sydney to Canberra. If you want to go down to Melbourne that is a 8 hour drive from Canberra or flights are cheap from both Sydney and Canberra. Melbourne is our cultral capital. If you want beaches go to North NSW or Queensland. The barrier reef is gorgeous. Best spot for barrier reef is Cairns thats the gateway.

2. Historical- Canberra, Mebourne or Uluru/Alice Springs.

3. We have great range of foods. Asian food is very good here as we have a large Asian population. All cities you will be able to find whatever you are after food wise. We don't really have many "Ausralian foods" but we make great steaks :)

4. The time differance is about 16 hours I believe but I'm not sure. THat is something you could probably look up on the net.

5. The number to dial is 011 and then the 61 then the rest of the number.

Hope this helps.
