Australia - Questions about Australia

Expert: Patrick Cummings - 6/27/2009

Question
Hello.

I've always wanted to visit Australia because I hear its so beautiful and based
on the photos I've seen in books and video clips on tv, I'm seriously
considering relocating there from the US.

1. What places do you recommend for sight seeing?

2. What are the most important historical places there?

3. What foods do you recommend that are most popular?

4. What is the time difference between Florida, USA and Australia?

Also, I'm planning to call somewhere from Florida, USA to Australia. Here is
the following phone number: (+61) 08 9224 2244.

5. If I wish to call from Florida, USA to Australia, what number must I dial
first?

Best regards,

Julian

Answer
As far as questions 1, 2, and 3, they are all too vague to really answer.  There are just so many places to see, things to do, and food to eat.  I'd highly advise picking up a travel book.  I bought a great one from Amazon that broke down the country by regions.  I must admit that when I spent my time in Australia I stayed on the east coast.

As far as time zones and calling, check out http://www.timeanddate.com

Great site that allows you to quickly find the time anywhere in the world, and a link of how to dial that country based on where you are currently at.

Just so you know, relocating is not an easy objective and you need to qualify in order to make the move.  You must either be sponsored or have a unique skill currently on Australia's skills in demand list.  I advise you to fully do some research at http://www.immi.gov.au
