Question
We are a middle aged couple and are visiting Australia for the first time in September. We are having difficulty getting a decent hotel in the above areas and in Noosa. Some of the hotels only change towels once per week.Is this standard procedure?

We are staying in Sydney for six days and have flights booked to arrive in Brisbane on the ninth September and we shall stay in this area for ten days.We thought of renting a motor home. Is this recommended? Could you please advise and give some info. on the areas and hotels.
                             Thanks
                                   Bill.

Answer
G'day Bill,
There are many places to stay in the places you listed. Try www.wotif.com.au It will have all levels of hotel for you.

We have stayed at a place near Noosa called Australis Noosa Lakes and it is worth a look at.
On the Gold Coast try Gold Coast International hotel, Holiday Inn or Mantra Legends Hotel. All are central and you can walk to all attractions in Surfers Paradise.
All places we have stayed at will change the towels when requested. At the worst, they will do it every second day.

The motorhome MAY be a cheaper option and if you like that mode of travel, they will be readily available. I think it may be better hiring a car and using hotels though. Both options will work fine, it just depends what suits you.

If I can help you in any other way, please contact me again.

Regards,
Frank

I have lived in Brisbane all my life (53 years). I am very proud of our city and the Sunshine State of Queensland. I am happy to help in any way possible. Queensland is a very humid and hot place in Summer, which makes it great for outdoor fun.

Experience

I have a great love and knowledge of Brisbane and the surrounding areas. I holiday on the Sunshine Coast every year, and visit the Gold Coast numerous times during the year for work. We love to dine out, and can recommend many places to try in Brisbane and the Coasts.
