Question
I have been offered a job & house package in Emerald, Queensland.  Is this a great place to live & work? I have two children (aged 12 & 10), is this an ideal place to bring my kids?

Hi Chris,
       Emerald is about 270 km west of Brisbane. It is not a large city, with a population of around 10,000.

I have never been to Emerald, so I do not have an opinion of the city either way.

I do know it gets very hot in summer. My concern would be the opportunities that would be available for your children regarding entertainment and job prospects later in life.
