Question
Hi there! i know its early yet but i am going to Australia between 10 Dec 2007 and 10 Jan 2008.  We have booked our flights from Scotland to Melbourne but would you advise to book the rest of our internal flights before we go because of the time of year? we would prefer to wait till we get there and book them as we dont know how long we will want to stay in each place for? also we will be in Sydney for New Year, do you think we should book our accommodation and flights in advance?

Answer
I would definitely recommend booking your flights and hotels in advance.  I realize you might not know exactly what you want to do, but that time of year is VERY popular in Australia and, especially in cities like Sydney, not only can the hotels fill up, but the rates for both hotels and flights can get very expensive if you wait till the last minute.

New Year's in Sydney is by and far the most popular time of year to be in the city, and hotels fill up months in advance. I wouldn't wait to book your accommodations.

If you would like assistance in planning, as well as making your reservations, feel free to contact me directly at michelle @ magicalescapes.com - I'm very familiar with Australia and can offer advice and tips on how to make the most of your stay there.

Otherwise, I hope you have a wonderful time!  That's a great time of year to visit, and you will have a blast!

Hope this helps!
