Question
Hi there,

Can you recommend the best way to experience the Outback? I will be in Australia from Sept. 2 - 11, 2004. Also, what type of weather should I expect?

Thank  you,
Suzanne

Answer
Where.  Australia is extremely large.

The only way to experience the true aboriginal life is to strip off and live on what you can find.  Not recommended unless you can tell poisonous from non-poisonous food.

The desert is extremely hot by day and freezing by night at all times of the year, it is nearly on the equator.  It only rains about once every seven to ten years.

I would book with a 4x4 tour off the internet.

Cheers

Australia

I spent a month in Oz travelling around the Northern Territory by car and coach (Kakadu, Alice Springs, Yulara, Uluru), South Australia (by car) and Kangaroo Island (by minibus), returning via Bali where I stayed for a week exploring. I made friends with people from all-over Oz when I was judging great danes there and can always give them a call if there are any questions I can`t answer.
